Funny money and gas pump skimmers
The Hood County Sheriff’s Office has
received several reports of fake money
being passed in retail transactions.
The money is similar to US currency but has
a disclaimer on it that states “for motion
picture purposes”.
People need to look closely at the money
they receive and not fall prey to the scam.
Hood County Sheriff’s Office Investigators
have been working hard in the county trying
to find gas pump skimmers.
In the last 2 months multiple skimmers have
been discovered and seized at different gas
stations in Hood County.
The skimmers are impossible for a customer
to detect, so don’t use your debit card at a
gas pump.
Use a credit card that notifies you when a
purchase has been made.
This will give you an edge on the outlaw and
time to notify the credit card company of a
suspicious purchase.
