Hood County’s third positive COVID-19 case was confirmed last night.
This patient was tested four days ago at Lake Granbury Medical Center after developing fever and respiratory symptoms consistent with COVID-19. The patient works in the transportation industry in Dallas-Fort Worth and had been in contact with many people through their work, but had no contact with known COVID-19 positive cases. The patient had been briefly hospitalized, but was discharged home with supportive medical care and COVID-19 contact precautions.
COVID-19 test results were received last night and communicated with the patient and public health authorities. The patient and family contacts have remained isolated in accordance with public health guidelines.
As of 1:00 today, March 27, 83 total COVID-19 tests have been completed for Hood County residents, with three (3) positive cases, 42 negative, and 38 pending.
