Forest Is No Longer On the Run!
Hood County Animal Shelter recently had a Wired Hair Pointer mix dog escape from their facilities. He was bound and determined to travel back to his brother that resides on the Parker/Hood County line, it appears. He managed to travel from Hood County Animal Shelter to the Laguna Tres neighborhood. He was spotted in the neighborhood of Sky Harbor but made his way back to Laguna Tres, where he was finally picked up thanks to a family letting him in their yard until Kaleigh Greer with HCAC was able to get to him. A special Thanks goes out to all who dedicated any time in the search for Forest!
Forest was one of the lucky ones. Not all strays are able to have people so dedicated to finding them and rehoming. If you are able, please take the time to help a stray dog. Contact the Animal Shelter during open hours or contact the non emergency number for the Sheriff’s Department so they can contact the on call Animal Control Officer for help wrangling up a stray or animal in need. Also, please watch for roaming animals while traveling. Not only can you hurt them, you could damage your vehicle.
If you are interested in adopting or rescuing one of many animals in this county without a home to call their own, please contact Hood County Animal Control at 817-573-4277 or hcac@co.hood.tx.us
Hood County Animal Control is also in need of food donations for Dogs, Cat, Puppies and Kittens. Please keep this in mind if you are wanting to help out!
